Day 1 of 1 Maras and Moray: Ancestral Agriculture and Salt Mines of the Sacred Valley
Pickup from the hotel or arranged meeting point in Cusco and departure toward the Maras and Moray area. The first visit is at Moray, an archaeological complex of circular terraces that showcase Inca agricultural knowledge and its relationship with microclimates. Then it continues to the Maras Salt Mines, a set of salt ponds that are still worked in a traditional way by local families. During the visit there is time for cultural explanation, photographs, and appreciation of the landscape. At the end, return to Cusco.
